Coming up, 616 Month!

If you're looking for that OG Steve/Tony buzz, we have the club for you. Marvel's hottest club is Earth-616, the primary continuity. This joint has everything — and we do mean everything! Opened in 1963 in Avengers #4, 616 offers you the perfect story for that Steve/Tony itch. Buddy cop and starry-eyed friendship? 616 gives it to you. Bitter fallings out, angst and recriminations? It's all here! Found family, Avengers teams, and partnerships? This is the place for you! Reconciliation and punching your way to love through monsters and nakedness? Absolutely. Time travel, amnesia, multiverse shenanigans, hurt/comfort, mission dates — it's all here, laid out in glorious colour in the pages of thousands of comic issues.

We would not be here without 616. The Steve/Tony fandom stems from the first Civil War event in 2008, when a bunch of people sat up and took notice of the spectacular fireworks between Iron Man and Captain America.

Coming up, Marvel Adventures: Avengers Month!

A universe in which everything is joy and fun and nothing ever hurts, Marvel Adventures: The Avengers is where there's a dating service run by Batroc, a lovesick planet, tiny aliens attacking New York, criminals sending spam through Iron Man's helmet, Hulk and kittens, Tony forgetting he owned a lake cabin, and the team ragging on Steve about his WWII movies. Ever wondered which canon the famous Stevetony basketball date came from? Look no further! Tony throwing Steve's shield after they have lunch in the park is also a lovely highlight.

And the team? What a great bunch of superheroes to work with — Bruce, Jan, Ororo, Logan, Tigra and Peter, plus a rotating cast of additional team-ups including Clint Barton, Luke Cage and others.

It's the perfect universe to go wild in. Need the team to fight giant squid? Marvel Adventures. Need the team to go back in time to fight dinosaurs and armies of ants? Marvel Adventures. Have a story featuring the superhero Captain Internets? Or the team is turned into MODOKs?

Visit the lovely and crazy world of Marvel Adventures this month.

Coming up, Avengers Assemble Month!

Avengers Assemble made its spectacular debut in 2013 with a two part episode that featured Tony going on a mission to save Steve, only for Steve to end up rescuing Tony instead. And the show took its notes from that, continuing to deliver that Steve/Tony goodness we all crave.

Steve and Tony ran the Avengers team as joined at-the-hip co-leaders. They went on undercover missions, had trust falls, and fought off a host of villains all the while bickering like the married couple we know they are.

Drawing inspiration from the MCU (off the back of EMH, which was more comics-inspired), Avengers Assemble was an endless spread of fannish riches—there was the de-aging episode, the body swap episode, the alternate reality episode... We got a sassy Steve and a self-sacrificing Tony. There was even the break-up and make-up arc where Steve and Tony fought and then came together to defeat Ultron. And who can forget the hug when Steve reunited with Tony in Battleworld?

Over 5 seasons, the Avengers broke out of superhero jail, fought dinosaurs in the Savage Land, and defeated the Red Skull's cabal to the soundtrack of Steve and Tony talking each other up. A more lighthearted and tropey watch, this cartoon has a great team dynamic with different Avengers' personalities shining through and some fabulous adventures!

So bring on all those wonderful Avengers Assemble fanworks—and don't hesitate to watch or re-watch some classic SteveTony episodes 😉

Coming up, Video Games Month!

Video Game canons give us some high quality SteveTony moments.

Who can forget Avengers Academy? The perfect canon for all those high school shenanigans to unfold. Teen Tony and Teen Steve have their issues, but they're great friends too, and what's not to love about having a water fight or playing a dance game on Halloween? We'll always have Blacksmith Tony talking with Gladiator Steve about Steve's biceps ….

Or how about Marvel’s Avengers? How about that amazing moment where Tony discovers Steve and hugs him? Or that Tony mourns the missing Steve for the first part of the game and talks to Bruce about how he let Steve down? And who can forget that Tony kept Steve's jacket?

Or did you spend a lot of time in the Marvel vs. Capcom arena and want to dive back into the fun of some crossover shenanigans? Or did you jump into Disney Infinity 2.0 to save Manhattan from Loki and MODOK? Or maybe you just want to explore Lego Steve’s feelings about Lego Tony’s heart-decorated boxers?

Whether you slip in canon references to comics or movies - whether you let the video game counterparts travel the multiverse or let them expand their game stories - it's up to you how you dive into all these additional world opened up by the video game canons!

Coming up, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes!

EMH is a cartoon series that aired from 2010 to 2013. It retells some major storylines from the Earth 616 comics continuity — from the Avengers team finding Steve in the ice to a Secret Invasion-style skrull infiltration to Red Zone and Operation Galactic Storm. If you're looking for a crash course in the Avengers and their adventures, this two-season show is a great way to go!

Some Stevetony highlights include:

• Steve and Tony sparring
• Team-as-a-family vibes
• Purple Man forcing a mind-controlled Tony to fight Steve
• Tony yelling at J. Jonah Jameson to stop publishing terrible stories about Steve after the Skrull Invasion
• The much-gif'd roof-top conversation
• Tony making a light shield for Steve to use
• the iconic size difference between Steve and Tony

There's plenty to work with in this canon, but it's not intimidating at all to start creating for — you can watch a couple of episodes and dive right in! The sincerity of the show, great array of characters, relationship between Steve and Tony, plus its colourful episodes, make it a fantastic way to get inspiration for another take on our favourite heroes. Whether it's your first time watching or EMH is an all-time favourite, we'd love to see what you create this month…

We love every version of Steve and Tony, wherever they are and whatever stage their relationship is in! The Cap-IM Universe Medley Fest was established to encourage creators to explore new settings and characterisations for Steve and Tony, as well as provide inspiration and a set time to revisit beloved universes.

This post wraps up the first 12 months and celebrates all of our participants.

Altogether TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY EIGHT new works were created for the 2021 fest — what an incredible amount of fanworks to enjoy 🖤
