LANGUAGE
You are welcome and encouraged to post content in any language that you like. However, the community's working language is English, and so we ask that the title, creator, rating, warnings and universe be listed in English in addition to your chosen language, so that mods can check your post easily. Please note that all tags are in English.

Step One:
Make sure that you are posting to the
cap_ironman community, not to your own Dreamwidth Journal.
After logging into your account, go to the community page. You will find the "post" button below where it says that you are a member of the community (if you haven't joined, the text will instead say that you are viewing the community, and instead of post you will have a "Join" button).

An alternative way is to click straight on post, and then change your "Posting" destination to
cap_ironman (note this will only work with communities that you have already joined and have posting access to).
Step Two:
Make sure that you are in HTML and have enabled auto-formatting - this means you don't have to add paragraph tags. We recommend that you use HTML editor, as this keeps your post clean of any stray styling that come over with a copy/paste from a google or word document. Custom styling in posts (custom font face, custom colors etc) can make it harder to read for some users because it overrides their own settings and preferences.

Paste in the cap-ironman template (this will be in the posting instructions for a challenge) and fill it in with your work's details, or use the guide below for what to include in your post.
You can use the Dreamwidth "Supported HTML" and "HTML Examples" to help you format your post. Don't forget to right-click and open them in a new tab!

Step Three:
Once you have filled out your post and are ready to publish it to the comm, double check what it will look like! You can do this by hitting the "Preview" button at the bottom of the page, or by switching the Editor to "Rich Text". Please note that clicking "Preview" will mean that Dreamwidth notifies you of any HTML errors, whereas changing to "Rich Text" editor will mean that any mangled code may simply disappear, along with sections of your post.

Step Four:
After double-checking your post and tags, you can choose to personalise the post with a mood, music you are listening to, etc. You can update the time of your post so that it shows when you published it, rather than when you started the draft. Changing the time of your post will only affect the time that shows up for people as the "posting date" - it will not queue up a post. When you are ready, hit "post to: cap_ironman" and then you're done!
Make sure that you are posting to the

cap_ironman does not have a fixed header, but posted fanworks should include at least the following information: title, creator, rating, warnings, universe.
If you'd like, you may copy the following code for your post and adjust the information as needed:

Fanworks should be tagged with the following tags:

Please note that due to a Dreamwidth glitch, if you add a tag that does not yet exist, then none of your tags will show up and you will need to re-tag your post.
If this is your first time posting on the comm, you will need a creator tag made for you - please let a moderator know by commenting on or in your post. (These appear under the tag list in the format x: username.) If your post isn't tagged, the mods will either tag your post appropriately or ask you to tag your post in the comments.

We encourage you to share all your Steve/Tony fanworks! This includes: fic, art, meta, canon recaps, cosplay, crafts, gifs, discussion, mixes, news, videos — you name it.
If you have an idea for a Steve/Tony mini-challenge that you'd like to host within the posts and comments section of our community, we'd love to hear it! Just let the mods know before posting.
All posts must relate to Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, and the relationship between them. Please remain on topic.
The focus of all posts should be on Steve and Tony. Secondary pairings and background threesomes should remain in the background and not be the focus.
The following posts are not allowed:
- Irrelevant posts. All posts made on
cap_ironman should pertain to Steve Rogers and Tony Stark's relationship, or the characters and their franchises by themselves.
- Scans and Illegal downloads. Do not post or link to illegal downloads. Scans are permitted in moderation (ie, do not post whole issues) and should be placed behind a cut.
- Unsolicited or unapproved advertisements. Any non-fanwork post that promotes a fandom challenge, event, or space that is unaffiliated with
cap_ironman is not allowed without permission. Please ask a moderator here before posting.
- Fic searches. Please direct your searches to
cap_im_search,
cap_im_finders or
avengers_search
If you're liked to promote your event or fandom space in our community, please head to our Advertisements page to see what sort of advertisements are acceptable and how to ask for permission.
And our most important rule: be excellent to everyone. Hate, personal attacks and kink shaming? To quote Cap, "Son, just don't." Use the back button instead and stay classy.
The best way to contact the community mods is to email us at [email protected] for general inquiries. For questions about events, please contact [email protected].
Moderators may request the alteration of posts/comments that do not meet comm rules and standards. Posts/comments which are not brought up to compliance will be subject to deletion.
