It's the 15th, so welcome to the next month of Cap-IM's Universe Medley fest!

You can create as many works as you like across as many different mediums as you like! This is a no-pressure, low commitment challenge to encourage you to try something new, stretch your creativity, and check out other versions of Steve and Tony.

Coming up, Ultimates Month!

Marvel Ultimate, affectionately known as Ults, made a splashy debut in 2002 with a gritty reimagined modern universe of superheroes with harder, sharper edges. Looking for some darkness to dig into, or angsty theatrics? Look no further than Ults, which the MCU took a couple of cues from (hello Fury).

This Steve is newly defrosted, with his missing years hitting hard and a modern world to contend with. This Tony has a brain tumor, not a heart condition, and the inevitability of his death is partly what drives his superheroing. Instead of the Avengers, we have The Ultimates, with the founding Avengers from 616 revisioned as well as a couple of other members filling out the roster.

There are grey morals and complex challenges, but sometimes that just makes the good moments even sweeter. Have fun with flamboyant, high-functioning alcoholic Tony and his depression and hallucinated kid! Take President Cap or Vampire Steve for a ride around the 'verse! Deathwish shenanigans, heartbreak, Tony's evil twin, supportive friendships and the line: "You're not going to die today, Cap"... there's a whole lot of dramatics to be inspired by.

Ults can get weird, and it can get offensive, but if you can dial up the setting on your selective reading goggles to see our duo have each other's backs (and a Thor who's against the military-industrial complex), give it a go this month!

If you would like to earn a badge for Ultimates Month, you must submit your work before the end of 20th April.

UNIVERSE MEDLEY:
If you post a Stevetony work set in Ultimates canon in the next month, congratulations! Share it on a Cap-IM community platform, add it to the AO3 Collection and BAM! You've participated!

UNIVERSE THEMED PROMPT FEST:
Got inspiration? Fill out our prompt form to inspire creators! You can also come along and fill a prompt for the universe of the month, or two, or three… the sky's the limit! We have plenty of past prompt lists to browse through.

Don't forget to share your work with us, and post in the AO3 Collection!

RUN A MINI-CHALLENGE:
Love a universe with all your heart and have an idea for a flash challenge? Let's do it! Get in touch with the mods to claim a month (or contact us on discord in the #universe-medley-challenges channel) and you can run it on cap_ironman's community platforms! The cap-im mods can also support you in setting up and/or modding the mini-challenge.
