Date Claims are now open!

Cap-IM Big Bang date claims are coming—it's time for you to decide on a posting date!

Date claims will open on Saturday, October 21, 10:00 AM ET (what time is this for me? | countdown) and close on October 23 at 6:00 PM EDT.

Remember that if no one on your team is available to claim a date, you can ask someone else to proxy-claim for you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • By claiming a posting date, you are committing to having your work complete and ready for posting by the date you have picked; this counts as your check in for the BB. If your team does not claim a date by October 23, 6:00 PM EDT or email the mods prior to claims, we will assign your team to a posting date.

  • If no team member is able to submit your date claims on behalf of the team, please use a proxy to submit a claim on your behalf. If you can't find a proxy, please email the mods at [email protected] or DM us on Discord and we'll help find one.

  • By submitting a claim, your team is committing to publishing your works on any of the dates chosen. If you believe you won't be able to finish your work by next month, please communicate your concerns with your partner(s) and the mods as soon as possible. You can find all extension information in our Posting Instructions post.

  • If you have any special requests, please email [email protected] as soon as possible or DM the mods on Discord so we can try to accommodate you (please note that we cannot guarantee anything, and will consider requests on a first-come, first-serve basis).

  • Incomplete works, failure to meet the deadline, or a complete lack of communication with your team on and after your posting date will result in a participant's temporary ban from some [community profile] cap_ironman events — for further details, read through our Defaulting and Participation Eligibility guidelines.

HOW TO CLAIM YOUR DATE

Thirty posting dates are available from November 1 to November 30. Only one team will be posting on any given day so that your Stevetony content is staggered for people to enjoy!

Before choosing the posting dates you will list, please make sure it will work for everyone on the team.

You are required to have every team member's BB works posted on your confirmed posting date by noon ET so that you can send the mods the masterpost information on time.

You can stagger posting times so that they suit your timezones — works don't have to be posted at exactly the same time — but all works need to be posted by the deadline.

Posting date claims will be run via a Google Form on a first come, first-served basis.
  • The Date Claims Form is linked here, as is the live claims spreadsheet that will show the claims happening real-time. The form will only open when date claims start, but you can access the link beforehand.

  • Your posting team is determined by the writer's CODENAME as given to you in the BB matching email.

  • The person claiming on behalf of a team needs to know their CODENAME and 3-5 posting dates to list in order of preference.

  • Posting dates will be allocated in the order that forms are received.

  • Teams that submit forms where all dates listed have already been picked will be asked to resubmit.

Remember, only one person claims on behalf of their team.

Please find the Posting Date Claims Form here. Saturday, October 19,10:00 AM ET (what time is this for me? | countdown) and close on October 23 at 6:00 PM ET.

Find the spreadsheet for viewing live claims here.

Thank you all for participating.

Creators, please take this time to read over the summaries and compile your wish list for the day of claiming. Please check the time converter or this countdown to be sure when claims begin for your timezone.

2024 Cap-IM Big Bang

This is the CLAIMS phase of the Big Bang, and where the artists come in! 6 fantastic drafts have been submitted and are awaiting artists to claim them.

By claiming a story, you assert that you will collaborate with your writer(s) to produce a new SteveTony fanwork to accompany their story when posting begins in November. There is no penalty-free dropping out after this point.

You do not need to be a member of the [community profile] cap_ironman community or have a Dreamwidth account to participate in claims. Anonymous comments are enabled. Commenting will open when the claiming phase begins.

Your schedule:
  • October: Creators work on their piece(s), writers finish their fics
  • Saturday, October 19th: Teams select their November posting dates
  • November: BB entries are posted throughout the month

A recap on some of the main rules:
  • Please remember to read through our General Event Policies and the Big Bang Event Guidelines for all participants, as well as the Guidelines for Claiming Creators for this year’s challenge before claiming.

  • Any story is eligible to be claimed if the creator is planning to do an accompanying fanvid or traditional or digital artwork

  • Creators wanting to create an accompanying fanmix with cover art, manips or gifs can only claim stories where the writer has OPTED INTO receiving these art forms.

  • In addition to a new accompanying fanwork, claiming creators will be required to create a banner for their team.

  • This is a collaborative challenge; you are expected to keep in touch with your team for the duration of the challenge. You must coordinate with your partner during the posting period.

  • All participants must be 18 or older.

Claiming:
To claim a story on Sunday, September 15, you will need to leave a comment with the following information (copy and paste in your own details):

You can list as many code names as you are genuinely happy to work with. Two or three options are recommended as we cannot guarantee that you will get your first choice.

  • Claims will be made on a first-come, first-served basis and you will be assigned the first option that is still available on your list.

  • Initially, you may only claim once, and you will be assigned a single story. We will announce if/when double claims begin.

  • If the claim time is inconvenient for you, we encourage you to find someone to proxy claim for you. Your proxy comments on the claims post instead of you, providing your username, email and claims following the template above. You can email the mod team for assistance in finding a proxy.

  • If you have a specific concern and would like the mods to vet a story draft before you make your choices, please let us know at [email protected] before claims begin.

Writers, remember that claiming creators have different schedules and timezones, and that though we try to accommodate everyone, your fic may not be claimed in the first few hours. Please be patient, and don’t look at claims as a competition This challenge is about pairing like-minded creators who will work together to produce exciting new Steve/Tony content; sometimes it takes a while for the right person to come along!

When matching is complete, we will send out emails to connect teams, along with further instructions.

Please don't contact your partner until you receive the mod connection email. Please reply directly to the email letting mods know that you received it. After this point, team members are responsible for keeping in touch with each other for the duration of the challenge.

Send any questions to [email protected], especially if we've made a mistake with your entry.

What's a Big Bang?

A big bang is a collaborative event between writers and artists, meant to encourage the finishing of longer stories (in our event, 20,000 words or more). Writers will create a story, artists and other fanworkers will claim a story based on the summary and create an accompanying work for it.

All stories are welcome!

Whether you're a seasoned writer who has participated in the Cap-IM Big Bang in the past, or an aspiring author hoping to get started on the longfic of their dreams, we want to see your Steve/Tony story! You have plenty of time to start writing, and we and the rest of the community will be here cheering you on.

No need to sign up or pre-commit

.

As long as you submit a draft of your story before the end of September 11th, then congratulations—you're part of this year's Big Bang!

If by the time the submission deadline comes around you realize you don't have enough of a word count to send in or that the story won't be as long after all—no need to give up on it. At least you have started and even if it's not going into the 2024 Captain America/Iron Man Big Bang you still have started a draft that you can finish now, whether for the 2024 round, for yourself—or another event!

You can't lose, so try for that story! We'll be excited wherever you send it in.

For more information on how to join this Big Bang, please read through the 2024 Captain America/Iron Man Big Bang Event Guidelines.

Discord Chats for Writers

It's a long creation period from now until November, and the key is to keep motivated and have a great time throughout the challenge! The Big Bang mods will be running some limited-time chats hosted on Discord.when we'll also be there to answer questions. The dates will be published beforehand on our community platforms.

Writers can also hang out in the Big Bang channel of our discord to word war or ask other writers for advice or brainstorm throughout the writing period. Don't forget to ask for the Big Bang role by indicating that you're planning to work on a draft. Join our Discord here.

Accompanying creators, beta readers and cheerleaders can ask for the Big Bang role after clams are over and all teams have been matched up.

Schedule

[personal profile] cap_ironman_fe
2024 Cap-IM Big Bang

All Big Bang fanworks should be completed, formatted, and ready to post in full by your posting date.

Each participating creator is responsible for posting their work on their scheduled posting day. A challenge-fulfilling work must be posted all at once, and it should be complete as a stand-alone. We require you to link to your partner's work when your team has posted, and it's courteous to acknowledge the hard work they've put into this collaboration!

All works must be posted on your scheduled posting date by noon Eastern Time. Should your team be unable to make your posting date, please contact us at [email protected] and then you can post at any time from December 1 to 8th during the Amnesty period. As long as you have posted your work by the end of the Amnesty period you're fine!

Posting Day Checklist:

  1. Post your completed work to AO3.

  2. Add your work to our 2024 Cap-IM BB collection (alternatively, post directly to the collection by clicking on the link and then the "post new work to collection" button).

  3. Add links to your team's work(s) on your BB post(s) once they too have posted.

  4. Designate one team member to fill out our Masterpost Information Form by noon ET so that the mods can create a Team Masterpost, and later the Event Masterlist.

POSTING YOUR WORK

ARCHIVE OF OUR OWN

All fanworks are required to be posted as unlocked AO3 works for longevity and accessibility reasons. You can crosspost your work to any channels and platforms of your choice on your posting date after you have posted to AO3.

Here are some options commonly used when posting a Big Bang collaboration:
  • Inspired By — The writer creates an AO3 work for their fic, and the creator posts their work to AO3 separately as a work inspired by the fic. This is a good option if your team prefers not to embed the fanwork(s) into the story.

  • Co-Authors — Creating a single AO3 work with all creators listed as co-authors, with the fanwork(s) embedded into the story.

  • Author's Note — The creators link to each other's works at the top of their AO3 work and describe the association in their own words without using an AO3 function (or in addition to it).

If you need to make an AO3 account, please request an invite here and keep in mind that it might take a few days for you to get it and be able to create the account. If you run into trouble, contact the mods at [email protected] ASAP so we can sort out an invite.

When posting your work to AO3, be sure that it is in our 2024 Captain America/Iron Man Big Bang collection. You can do this by either posting the work directly to the collection, or by manually adding "2024_Cap_Ironman_Big_Bang" in the Post to Collection / Challenges field in the Associations section and pressing Enter. Do not worry if the collection does not appear as an option in the AO3 dropdown menu (this is a common glitch); if you add the collection manually as above it will be fine.

For help on AO3 posting, please check our AO3 Guide for Cap-Iron Man Events.

WRITERS

Please be aware that your word count may be different from AO3's when posting. Mods will be going by AO3 for the 20,000 word minimum, so make sure your fic meets that requirement on AO3.

ARTISTS:

Do not host your artwork on a site where it can easily be deleted, requires special access, or uses a link that can be broken.

In addition to your entry for the BB, each team requires a banner, which you will submit to us via the Masterpost Information Form.

Please follow the guidelines below when creating your banner:
  • The banner must be Safe For Work (SFW).

  • The banner must be 580px wide and 200px tall or a higher resolution image with the same dimensions (e.g. 1160:400) so that when resized it won't be squished. Please note that the mods will crop your image to size if it is sent incorrectly.

  • The banner can be a SFW crop of the artwork or a specially made banner for the accompanying fic.

  • The banner can include such details as fic title(s) and team member usernames

  • The person in charge of the filling out the Masterpost Information Form must provide a direct image link of the banner.

FILLING OUT YOUR MASTERPOST INFORMATION FORM

On your chosen posting day, ONE member from your entire team is required to send through your team's links and posting information by filling out the Masterpost Information Form by noon ET so that mods can create your Team Masterpost.

Each team is expected to coordinate internally. Please make sure that you have collected all the information necessary to fill out the Form.

The Masterpost Information Form will ask you for:
  • Direct image URL to team banner

  • Preferred usernames for all team members

  • Fic summary

  • Word count of fic/length of podfic/length of fanvid

  • Rating of works

  • Warnings for works

  • AO3 links to all works

  • Optional additional links to crossposts

  • Tags for your masterpost, including Dreamwidth username tags

You can find all of the community's existing tags here, and the relevant tag options (universe and genre) will also be provided in the Masterpost Information Form for you to choose from.

Important tip: If you have created a draft of your AO3 work, its link will be the same as when you publish it. This means that you can pass on your AO3 link to the person filling out the Masterpost Information Form before you publish your work on the posting day.

Please remember to fill out our Masterpost Information Form by noon ET of your posting day

Your team's masterpost will then be published on your behalf using the cap-ironman event mod account on our [community profile] cap_ironman Dreamwidth community and our main Tumblr.

CROSSPOSTS

If you'd like to share your work on other social media platforms, please indicate that it is a work for the Cap-Iron Man Big Bang challenge and link to your partner's work(s) in the post.

If posting on Tumblr, be sure to [community profile] cap_ironman and use #capimbb or #capimbb2024 within the first 5 tags so the mods will be able to find it, or email us a rebloggable link to guarantee that it'll be reblogged. Please note that we'll be queueing the posts as we see them, so it may take a couple of days for them to be shared on our blog. If your post features art, we will only reblog SFW (safe for work) posts: we encourage you to post a 'safe for work' crop with a link or cut to the full version.

Remember this is a collaborative event; we will not reblog Big Bang posts that do not link to their companion work(s).

AMNESTY PERIOD / EXTENSIONS

We strongly urge you to make sure that you are finished and ready to post before your claimed posting date. If you cannot make your posting date for any reason, please don't just disappear on your team members and us.

Should you for any reason be unable to make your posting date, please contact your team mates first and then us at [email protected] to let us know. After that your team can post at any time from December 1 to 7th during our Amnesty period. As long as you have posted your work by the end of the Amnesty period you're fine!

If one team member is not able to post even during that time the partner or remaining team members can post their work without them during the Amnesty period. If, in case of double claimed art, a writer communicated a full drop out before the team’s posting date or did stop communicating with their partner(s) completely, the artist and remaining writer can post on their claimed date without waiting for the amnesty period.

Please note that your team cannot ask for an indefinite extension beyond the Amnesty period and works that aren’t posted by the end of December 8th (across all timezones) won’t be included in the event Masterpost..

PENALTY FOR DEFAULT

If you fail to contact us and do not work with your partner(s) to post before that deadline, you will be considered a defaulting participant, and the penalty for this is a year-long ban from all collaborative and exchange events run by the Cap-IM community. This penalty will only apply to the defaulting member of the team, not the team as a whole and the ban can be lifted before the end of the ban period. For details on how to lift a ban check our Defaulting Guidelines.

2024 Cap-IM Big Bang

Guidelines for Claiming Creators

  • Remember to read through the Big Bang Event Guidelines, as well as the claiming creators' guidelines outlined below and take note of our General Event Policies before making a claim.

    • With your claim of BB story you agree to create at least
      • one accompanying fanwork and

      • a story banner for the fic you claim, 580px wide and 200px tall or a higher resolution image with the same dimensions (e.g. 1160:400). The banner can be a SFW crop of the artwork or a specially made banner for the accompanying fic.

  • By claiming a story you are commiting to finishing all fanwork(s) by your team's posting date.

  • There is no penalty-free dropping out after you claimed a summary.

Claiming Process

To participate in the 2024 Cap-Iron Man Big Bang as a claiming creator, all you need to do is claim a summary on Saturday, September 14. There is no prior sign-up available or required.

Please note that if you claim a fic that is in a language other than English, you must be able to read this language so that you can read the fic and communicate with your partner.

Please check carefully which fic codenames have opted into receiving fanmixes, gifs, manips or podfic as accompanying fanwork.

  • Claims will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • In case you can't make a claim personally on Saturday, September 14, you are allowed to ask someone to make a claim on your behalf (a proxy claim). There is no need to have a Dreamwidth or OpenID account to make a claim or proxy claim for someone, as anonymous commenting will be enabled.

  • Story summaries are posted anonymously. You must claim a story based solely on the summary and details provided. Writers are instructed to be as transparent as they can when providing details on warnings and tropes, other featured characters/relationships, etc.

  • Instructions on how to make a claim will go up with the preview of summaries on September 12.

  • Because this is a collaborative event, there is no penalty free dropping out once you've claimed a work. Dropping out once you've been partnered up will be considered defaulting on the challenge and will result in a temporary ban, barring extenuating circumstances. This penalty will only apply to the defaulting member of the team, not the team as a whole and the ban can be lifted before the end of the ban period. For details on how to lift a ban check our Defaulting Guidelines.

Creation Period and Posting of Accompanying Fanwork

Once you've claimed a work and you've been teamed up with your creating partner(s), all you have to do is make accompanying artwork(s) for your partner's story, and remember to keep in touch with them throughout the event!

Posting Period

The posting period begins in November, and we will be in touch before then with instructions on how to claim a posting date and with more details on how to post your entry to our AO3 collection and how to create the team master post.

Posting

Each participating creator is responsible for posting their work on their scheduled posting day by noon Eastern Time. A challenge-fulfilling work must be posted all at once, and it should be complete as a stand-alone. We require you to link to your partner's work when your team has posted.

On your chosen posting day, ONE member from your entire team is required to send through your team's links and posting information by filling out the Masterpost Information Form.

Image Hosting

Before inserting an image into your work, please note that AO3 does not host images; this means you cannot upload an image directly to AO3. Instead you must upload it elsewhere and retrieve a direct image link once you do. (A direct image URL ends in .jpg, .png, .gif, etc.) We advise using a free image uploading service such as Imgur, though please keep in mind the T's and C's regarding hotlinking. We strongly encourage you not to host your image on Tumblr, Google Drive, or Discord as these links are liable to break. For more information about embedding art into AO3, please see our AO3 Guide for Cap-IM Events.

If none of these options work for you, please contact the mods at [email protected] or DM us on Discord and we will work with you to host your art on one of the Cap-IM accounts.

2024 Cap-IM Big Bang

Guidelines for Writers

  • Remember to read through our Big Bang Guidelines, as well as the writer's guidelines outlined below and take note of our General Event Guidelines.

  • Completed stories must be a minimum of 20,000 words. There is no upper limit, but stories must be complete at the time of posting.

  • Your story must be a self-contained story written specifically and exclusively for the Cap-Iron Man Big Bang and therefore can't be a sequel to an existing story or a part of an existing WiP that has been posted online. If you have an unposted WiP that has not been shared (in full or in part) anywhere, then it's eligible as a Big Bang entry if it fits all the other requirements.

  • You can sign up alone or as part of a co-writing team of writers (the minimum word count remains the same).

  • You can submit a draft for claims if it's at least 10K or over, but story drafts must be complete if you want to opt into being claimed by a podficcer.

  • There is no penalty-free dropping out after your summary has been claimed.

  • As you're working on your story, please keep in mind that summaries are posted anonymously during claims. We urge you to be tactful and try not to promote which summary is yours during the pre-claim period.

If you don’t have an idea for an entry yet, you might want to check out our Prompt Post and past Tumblr inspiration posts. You can also brainstorm with other writers in our discord. Don't forget to ask for the Big Bang role by indicating that you're planning to work on a draft. Join our Discord here.

Draft Requirements and Submissions

To officially enter the 2024 Big Bang, simply submit your entry and some details (listed below) via our Sign-Up Form at any time from now until submissions close at the end of Wednesday, September 11 (on the last timezone).

Drafts need to be at least 10K of the required 20K minimum word count. Drafts of less than 10K will not be accepted. The important thing is that you feel confident you can finish the story in time before you send in the draft.

It is fine if you have skeleton scenes, parts that still exist in outline form, or scenes that are not more than a sentence in your outline as a placeholder, but the majority of your draft needs to be prose. The draft must include an outlined ending (bullet points are fine) so that after claiming, your partner(s) have a clear idea of where you’re taking the story.

If you would like to opt into being claimed by a podficcer, please note that the above does not apply and you must submit a complete story, so that your podficcer has enough time to create their accompanying podfic.

Because this is a collaborative event, there is no penalty-free dropping out after your story is claimed, so keep that in mind before sending in a draft.

To submit your entry, please, fill out our Sign-Up Form

Don't forget to upload your draft file or email it to us at [email protected] and use "BB 2024 ROUGH DRAFT" and the username you want to sign up with as the subject line. You will only count as fully signed-up once we get your draft.

The form will ask for the following information:

Username:
Discord name (optional):
Language:
Word Count:
Genre:
Universe(s):
Characters/Pairings other than Steve/Tony:
Warnings: (common warnings like non con, mpreg, and anything you want your artist to be aware of)
Rating:
Summary: (no more than 100 words)
Text snippet: (to showcase your writing style. Please keep to 1-2 short paragraphs)
Do you want to opt OUT OF second claims? (y/n)
Do you want to opt INTO being claimed by a podficcer and is your story complete at time of sending? (y/n)
Do you want to opt INTO being claimed by a manip, fanmix or gif artist? (y/n)

Summary for Claims

Please keep the length of your summary to a maximum of 100 words. It can be as detailed or spoilery as you like. Be honest and straightforward; artist claims will be based entirely on summaries and your fic snippet. If you're unsure how to write a good summary for the matching, we have a How to Write A Big Bang Summary Guide.

Trigger warning

Be clear and thorough about trigger and content warnings so that creators know what they are signing up for. You must put any and all warnings in this version of your summary, even if you choose to use an "author chooses not to warn" tag later. We don't want anyone to be surprised by the story they claim, so we require warnings for common triggers like noncon, dubcon, excessive or graphic violence, underage sex, incest, character death, and anything else you feel appropriate.

Claiming Process

After you submit your draft and it's been approved by the mods, it will be available for claims on September 14th.

Anonymous Claims

Claims are done anonymously. Creators will be claiming stories based solely on the summary, snippet and story details. Out of fairness to all participants and stories, please don't reveal which story is yours until after all claims are over.

We don’t allow pre-formed teams, and we expect all participants to be open to working with new people.

Double Claims

If claims go quickly, a second round of claims will be opened to give more creators a chance to participate. This means that your BB story will potentially be double claimed—claimed by two creators—and you'll be coordinating with two partners. If you'd like to opt out of having your work double claimed, please let the mods know when you submit your draft.

We cannot guarantee that every story will be double claimed.

If you are double claimed, you will collaborate as a team of three "creators" (remember that your team may consist of co-creators who are working together to write or create an accompanying fanwork) that post on the same day. The two creators that independently claimed your work can choose to create separate works or co-create them, but that's up to them, and there must be a minimum total of two accompanying works created for your story.

We understand that if you are double claimed, you may enjoy working with one of your partners more than the other. However, we expect that you value them both and recognise their works equally in public. If you don't think you can do this, please do not put your work up for double claiming.

Creation Period and Posting

Once your work has been claimed and you've been teamed up with your creating partner(s), all that's left is to finish your BB story and keep in touch!

Posting Period and Date Claims

The posting period begins in November, and we will be in touch before then with instructions on how to claim a posting date and post your entry.

Beta Reading

While it's not compulsory, we encourage writers to have their stories beta read before posting— check out our list of active Steve/Tony beta readers to find one.

Have a look at our Big Bang FAQ post for more information. Have more questions? Please email the BB mods at [email protected] or check our other contact methods here or ping us on Discord.

2024 Cap-IM Big Bang

This is where everything begins for the [community profile] cap_ironman 2024 Captain America/Iron Man Big Bang! Running since 2011, the Cap-Iron Man Big Bang challenges writers to create new Steve/Tony fics and then invites artists, podficcers and fanvidders to create accompanying fanworks!

What's involved in this challenge? )

Schedule

  • Now - September 11: Writers work on their fic for draft submissions
  • Wednesday, September 11th: Drafts and summaries are due and writer sign-ups close
  • Thursday, September 12th: Summaries are publicly posted
  • Saturday, September 14th: Accompanying fanworkers claim stories by summaries
  • October: Creators work on their piece of accompanying fanwork, writers finish their fics
  • Saturday, October 19th: Teams select November posting dates
  • November 1st: Posting begins!

Guidelines for All Participants

  • Please read through the following rules below carefully before submitting your draft or making a claim.

  • All participants must be 18 or older.

  • This challenge is run by the cap-ironman community and it’s a Steve/Tony fest, so we’re looking for works with a focus on the relationship between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark in any context (platonic or romantic) and in any setting or continuity you can think of.

  • Fics focused on a primary non-Steve/Tony relationship or moresome involving other characters shouldn't be send in

  • Each creator may participate a maximum of two times. See our FAQ for more on what this means.

  • We don't allow pre-formed teams or tandem sign-ups between someone who submits a draft and someone planning to claim, and we expect all participants to be open to working with new people. The claiming process is partially anonymous and first-come, first-serve — when you sign up, be open to work constructively with anyone.

  • This is a collaborative fest: you are expected to keep in touch with your team for the duration of the fest. You must coordinate with your partner during the posting period.

  • Works need to be complete and ready for posting in full by your team’s posting date.

  • Even if you finish early, do not post your work or any portion of it anywhere before the posting date.

  • After all creators have been teamed up, the BB mods will be sending out additional information and event updates primarily via email. Please make sure that you check your email regularly once you've joined the event.

Event Requirements

⭐ Writers commit to posting a complete story of at least 20,000 words.
  • Writers must produce at least 10,000 words and confident they can finish their draft in time before draft submissions
  • The fic must be complete by draft submissions if writers are opting in to be paired with a podficcer

⭐ Artists commit to posting:
  • At least one complete traditional or digital artwork OR
  • A complete fanvid of at least 1 minute
  • At least one fanmix with cover art OR
  • At least 2 manips or gifs
In addition to one of the above, artists are required to create a story banner for their team.

⭐ Podficcers commit to posting an accompanying podfic of at least one complete scene in the story. In addition, they are required to create a story banner for their team.

If you're signing up as a writer, before submitting your draft before September 11th please read through the GUIDELINES FOR WRITERS page for information on draft submissions and more.

If you'd like to claim a story and join as an artist, fanvidder or podficcer, please before making a claim on September 14th read through the GUIDELINES FOR CLAIMING CREATORS page for information on the claiming process and more.

Here are our Posting Instructions with everything you need to know on your posting day in November

Check out our BIG BANG FAQ POST for more information.

Tony laughs, and it feels brittle, sharp, cutting at his throat as it spills between them. "There aren't nice Alphas, Captain. No one is nice enough to walk away from a billion dollar fortune for someone like me."

"I would," Steve says, and it feels like a confession, like something he doesn't mean to share, and all the more precious for it.

2023 Cap-IM Big Bang

  2. Add your work to our 2023 Cap-IM BB collection (alternatively, post directly to the collection by clicking on the link and then the "post new work to collection" button).

When posting your work to AO3, be sure that it is in our 2023 Captain America/Iron Man Big Bang collection. You can do this by either posting the work directly to the collection, or by manually adding "2023_Cap_Ironman_Big_Bang" in the Post to Collection / Challenges field in the Associations section and pressing Enter.

If posting on Tumblr, be sure to [community profile] cap_ironman and use #capimbb or #capimbb2023 within the first 5 tags so the mods will be able to find it, or email us a rebloggable link to guarantee that it'll be reblogged.

After that your team can post at any time from December 1 to 8th during our Amnesty period.

Cap-IM Big Bang date claims are coming—it's time for you to decide on a posting date!

Date claims will open on Saturday, October 21, 6:00 PM EDT (what time is this for me? | countdown) and close on October 25 at 6:00 PM EDT.

Remember that if no one on your team is available to claim a date, you can ask someone else to proxy-claim for you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • By claiming a posting date, you are committing to having your work complete and ready for posting by the date you have picked; this counts as your check in for the BB. If your team does not claim a date by October 25, 6:00 PM EDT or email the mods prior to claims, we will assign your team to a posting date.

  • If no team member is able to submit your date claims on behalf of the team, please use a proxy to submit a claim on your behalf. If you can't find a proxy, please email the mods at [email protected] and we'll help find one.

  • By submitting a claim, your team is committing to publishing your works on any of the dates chosen. If you believe you won't be able to finish your work by next month, please communicate your concerns with your partner(s) and the mods as soon as possible. You can find all extension information in our Posting Instructions post.

  • If you have any special requests, please email [email protected] as soon as possible so we can try to accommodate you (please note that we cannot guarantee anything, and will consider requests on a first-come, first-serve basis).

Saturday, October 21, 6:00 PM EDT (what time is this for me? | countdown) and close on October 25 at 6:00 PM EDT.

Please find the spreadsheet for viewing live claims here.
