It’s Avengers Assemble month, which means it’s time to celebrate all the tropey goodness of AA Stevetony, from trust exercises to deaging (and a Stevetony hug!)

In light of this, we are happy to present Fall Backwards, a small-scale flash exchange for all worktypes being held as part of the Cap-IM Universe Medley Fest. Works must be set in the Avengers Assemble universe and focus on Steve and Tony. Crossovers with other universes are also allowed, although the focus should be on AA.

How does it work?

• Sign up through the AO3 Collection with at least three Steve&Tony or Steve/Tony Avengers Assemble-themed prompts, some likes and DNWs.
• You will be hand-matched to create a gift for another participant
• You will have 3 weeks to make a fanwork based on a prompt or one of your recipient’s likes in secret.
• Submit your work to the AO3 Collection before the posting deadline.
• Wait for reveals, then comment and kudos away!

This is meant to be a low stress exchange built around the idea of doing a fun Avengers Assemble-themed event. There will be a few hours’ grace given for the assignments deadline due to time differences. Please do let us know beforehand if you need this, as we cannot guarantee how long the grace period will be.

Exchange Guidelines

• This challenge is open to participants of all ages.


• All types of fanworks are welcome! This includes, but is not limited to: multimedia fanworks, fanfiction, poetry, music, crafts, art, podfics, vids, edits, gifsets, etc. Note that cap_ironman has a list of podfic-friendly writers if you don't want to script or podfic your own work.


• Steve and Tony's relationship—whether it is romantic, platonic, pre-slash or otherwise—should be the main focus of your work and the "endgame" relationship, if applicable.


• Gifts must be previously unpublished and created specifically for this exchange.


• Please abide by the General Cap-IM Event Guidelines

Sign-up Period

Sign-ups take place on AO3 and consist of requests (what you want to receive) and offers (what you want to create).

Work Requirements
By signing up you are committing to creating, at minimum, one of the below:

• One clean traditional or digital sketch on an unlined surface
• One fanfic of at least 500 words
• One podfic of at least 250 words
• One vid of at least 15 seconds
• One gifset
• One manip/edit
• One fanmix of at least 5 songs, with cover art (which can be digital, traditional, an edit, etc.)

If you’d like to create a different worktype and aren’t sure about the minimum, please get in touch with us by the specified contact methods.

To sign up, you will need to provide:

• At least 3 prompts themed around Steve, Tony, and the Avengers Assemble universe. Please keep in mind that your gift will be small as this a flash exchange — do not prompt an epic plot! You are welcome to include episode-specific prompts if you’d like but please do make sure to have at least two more general prompts in your sign-up


• Your Do Not Wants (please note that if these are written in bad faith to limit your gift to one very specific thing or contradict your prompts, the mods will be in touch to ask you to change them).


• A list of Likes (Please choose a minimum of 3 Likes from the tagset in the “Additional Tags” section. If you run out of tags, or your likes aren't there, include them in the textbox).


• OPTIONALLY, any creators that you do not wish to be matched with (please note that we will do our best to honour this but can’t guarantee anything).

If you do not have a Transformative Works Statement in your AO3 profile (or otherwise easily accessible) please either give your potential gifter permission to podfic your works in your request, add a statement to your profile, or specify that you are not willing to have your own works podficced.

Creation Period

Please don’t give away who you are creating for until after reveals!

• You must create a gift that is inspired by one of the prompts OR is aligned with at least one like listed in the request (via tagset or textbox).
• You must honour any DNWs.
• You must post a complete gift by the assignment due date

Podficcers: please make sure that if you're podficcing someone else's work, they have got a blanket statement or have otherwise given you permission.

Editors and Manip-people: please do not use existing fanworks as the basis of your work unless the creator has a blanket statement or you have been given permission.

Once you've finished, go to your assignments page on AO3 and click the "Fulfill" button for this exchange. Find detailed instructions for how to do this here. The collection is moderated, so there will be a delay between submitting your work and seeing it show up in the collection.

If for any reason you are not able to complete your assignment before the due date, please go to your assignments page and click the "Default" button as soon as possible. There is no penalty for defaulting, but let us know ASAP if you will be defaulting on this exchange, and please do try your best to complete your gift!

Treats are welcomed throughout the creation period. Treats must honour DNWs, but do not need to meet any minimum requirements. We do ask that if you’re a participant, please first fulfill your assignment before treating. There is also a dedicated treating period after assignments are due.

Reveals

Creator and work reveals will happen on 14 August. There will be no anon period—works and creators will be revealed simultaneously.
