Okay, I will admit that I went into this not expecting much. But oh my god, this fic is ridiculously amazing. The slow burn of the relationship between Steve and Tony is fantastic and the pining. It manages to kill my heart without being so over-the-top unrealistic that I can't buy it. It's just FANTASTIC.

Ohhhh man, this one hurts so good. 616!Tony and Noir!Tony switch places. It's post-Civil War, so Tony's in a really angsty place, but going to the Noir-verse, he really manages to make a place for himself with this new Steve. Then, of course, he has to choose between universes. The characters are really great in this one. I think the sequel, A Long Hard Road (http://archiveofourown.org/works/260185), is even better.

There have been a couple remixes in this fandom that I've really loved, and this is definitely one of them. Artist Steve is a huuuuge weakness of mine, and this one is a great example. It gets down Steve the artist and Steve the man and I love the Steve/Tony interaction.

Beauty and the Beast fic. I loooooooooove fairy tale fics and this is a really nice one. It alters the original fairy tale well in order to suit it to Steve and Tony (who are adorable, of course) and has this wonderful dreamlike quality to the writing that's really reminiscent of old fairy tales.

Rec: This is, in my opinion, the fic everyone who ships Steve/Tony should read. Don't know much about the comics? Read this fic and it will not only inspire you to love 616!S/T, it will lead you down a path of love for a drove of Avengers not featured in any of the films. It's painful, it's wonderful, it's perfectly on point in every way
except that sequel number 4 is so slow to come out, hint hint authors that see this. I read this fic back when I first entered this fandom and wasn't sure whether or not I could be really sold on the pairing as legitimate rather than fun, and this fic is the perfect answer to that. If you like longfic (I'm talking several hundred thousand K and counting for the sequels), if you like plot, if you like things not to be handwaved away in the easy route out, this fic is for you. It's voices are spot on for EVERY character, not just Steve and Tony, as the authors' love of canon shines through.There seriously are not enough words for how much I love this fic. Click the link. You'll be happy that you did, even though it will involve putting your life aside for a few days as you read it.

Rec: This is a kink meme fill in response to the prompt "So based on the movies, I think it's fair to say Steve is in his mid-20s, and Tony in his early-40s. I would really love to see something dealing with that, or with Steve being simultaneously older and younger than Tony." It is not finished yet, but I highly recommend you read it anyway, because the Tony/Steve dynamic is delicious. Steve asks Tony out, and Tony sort of carelessly agrees. Then Steve shows up in his dress uniform. With flowers. And he won't stop calling Tony "Mr. Stark," because it's just respectful to do so. Tony finally realizes that dating in the 40s was a whole different ballgame and Steve means business. They negotiate terms with Steve mostly undressed and Tony sitting on his lap. It's wonderfully intimate, and they're both operating outside their comfort zones.

Rec: For someone he'd hero-worshipped for so long, Steve Rogers in the flesh is a pretty big disappointment. For one thing, he keeps looking at Tony as though he reminds him of someone else, and even if he never says anything, Tony's pretty sure it's his father. Tony reminds Steve of someone all right, but it is definitely not his father. I can't go into a lot of detail without spoiling some of the surprises, but OMG, you need to read this, it is beautiful and mind blowing! Feels, feels everywhere.

Rec: Tony and Steve get together fic, with an assist from Emma Frost. Emma visits to help Tony with some armor upgrades. Steve initially thinks she's a stripper because, well, she dresses like one. And then he thinks she and Tony are dating. And he is not obsessing over Emma's relationship with Tony, and her lack of clothing, and the banging coming from the workshop, because he's not jealous or anything. Once he realizes who Emma is, and what thoughts she might have picked up from him, he's forced to confront his attraction to Tony.

Rec: always a girl Tony. I love genderswaps. This is one of my favorite Steve/Tony genderswaps - it's so sweet and so funny. Steve and Tony are drawn to each other from the first time they meet (much to Fury's disgust), but they butt heads for a while before coming to an understanding. Great Steve POV, and basically a perfect female Tony. Good example of the "Tony doesn't realize they are dating" trope.

It features a perfectly characterised Tony and an equally well thought out female Tony from an as yet uncatalogued universe and is set at a period where there are, as yet, few fics but ought to be more... and Steve and the other characters, as seen from Tony's pov, are spot on. It's clever and already heartbreaking and beautifully written. (God, I love this fandom and its brilliant writers.)
This fic does not have enough hits on AO3, probably because it is pure comics and not MCU. This makes me angry and you wouldn't like me when I'm angry...

As far as AvsX goes...well...it's somewhat better then I hoped it was going to be, but then again my expectations when it comes to comic events are at the bottom next to nothing XD If anything is a saving grace, they at least put out an issue every two weeks...we won't have to suffer MONTHS upon MONTHS of event. The thing should be wrapped up by Fall - unless they decided to do point issues after #12 (X______X)
Ahahah I love how you find slashy bits thanks to Bendis. In fact, this is the only reason why I don't want to pitch Bendis over something because he does provide really, really nice Steve/Tony moments. As for Wanda...well she now plays key role as of #6...though personally, I'm waiting till the Young Avengers come back into play. Someone somewhere at some point in time when Children's Crusade was happening said stuff happens with them [peers around]
Since apparently they are part of the Avengers...I think...maybe they'll get hunted down with the rest of them as well. 8D Maybe rescue mission? Come on Wiccan! If anything...I'm just glad Steve and Tony are on the same side, buuuuut...according to Axel...something is supposed to happen with Tony - again.

Usually, I see more stories of Tony pining for Steve, so this sort of role-reversal was refreshing. This is done entirely from Steve's POV and it gets angsty, especially at the point when Tony goes steady, and then even angstier. But there's a happy ending at the end. I also really like the friendship that developed between Steve and Johnny Storm. ^^

Because there just needs to be more Noir universe fic? And manic_intent is an awesome writer. The dynamics between Steve and Tony are different from normal, as one would imagine with their roles reversed.
