If This Be Error - Chapter 1
Titles are hard, y'all. We literally spent an entire hour last night trying to think of something to call this thing that wasn’t “WWII AU.” Our original working title of “Captain America & Iron Man vs. the Nazi Mummies” had to be rejected due to the fact that there are no mummies anywhere in the fic, but nothing we could think of could equal the awesome of that title. Except “Captain America & Iron Man vs. the Mole People,” but there are no mole people anywhere in the fic either.
Then we thught of naming it after an old Tales of Suspense or Golden Age Captain America issue/stoyline, but none of them were quite right, either. So we fell back on our old standby of Shakespeare quotations. This one is technically from the final couplet of a love sonnet, but we actually picked it because it fits into Silver Age Marvel’s goofy tradition of “If This Be [insert noun here]..!” titling.
